After School Tutoring

Launch the media gallery 1 playerSouthern Elementary conducted an after-school tutoring program for 5 weeks. The 30-minute tutoring sessions took place from October 15-November 19. Fifteen teachers provided tutoring instruction to students in kindergarten to 3rd grade. The Southern tutoring program is part of the WORDS Project grant focusing on improving literacy instruction and skills. Southern is in their second and final year of the grant. The WORDS Project has been a positive experience for both staff and students at Southern.
