Sophomores Read Speak
Students in English 10 finished reading the novel Speak. The book deals with tough situations that a teenager must overcome and speak out about what happened. The students enjoyed a guest speaker, Caitlynn Friedley, from the Hope Crisis Center to shed some light of the different types of trauma that a teen may encounter. She also shared the services that Hope Crisis Center can provide to help in those situations. Caitlynn referred to the novel to emphasize how the character was showing signs of trauma. Thank you, Caitlynn.
