End of year activities
May 20, 2025
Where has the school year gone? It is hard to believe that we are finishing up the 2024-2025 school year. Our staff and students have had a very busy year, but I believe that March, April, and May are the busiest months of the school year. With the arrival of spring came many activities. Our students are involved in track, golf, eSports, Speech, and quiz bowl. Vocal and instrumental music students spend many hours preparing for district competition, where both groups had great performances, as well as putting on numerous concerts to wrap up the year. The Junior class spent countless hours preparing for the Junior/Senior Prom. Thank you to the Juniors and their sponsors, Mrs. Mick and Miss Dickinson, for your hard work. As always, prom was a huge success. Southern’s Scholastic/Honors night was held on May 6, and students were recognized for their academic success. Congratulations to those students who were inducted into the Southern Chapter of the National Honor Society. Southern honored over 70 students for their hard work in and out of the classroom during this program. Student athletes were recognized on May 13th during the athletic banquet that is sponsored by the Southern Sports Boosters. Thank you to the Sports Boosters for your generous donations and the hard work you put in organizing the banquet. Congratulations to Jenna Forney and Carsen Goes for being named the Raider Student Athlete of the Year. On May 17, we said goodbye to 28 graduating seniors who will be starting the next journey of their lives. Good luck to all of our graduates. Good luck to Cooper Warford and Annika Glynn as they compete in the State Track Meet on May 23rd and 24th. As you can see, the students and staff at Southern have been extremely busy, and we are proud of all the accomplishments of our students. HAVE A GREAT SUMMER. #RaiderPride
