Sophomores study Speak

March 14, 2023

Sophomores are reading the novel, Speak. The main character in the novel busts an end-of-summer party by calling the cops. Now, everyone hates her. No one will listen to her side of the story. When she finally reveals what happened at the party and why she called the police, everything changes. The book reveals how important it is to speak up when you have been violated. The Hope Crisis Center sponsored a "Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month Youth Expression Contest," and several of the sophomores submitted artwork or poetry for the contest. The theme for the contest was "Talk About It. Be About It. End Dating Violence." Sophomores in the picture include Olive Sabey-Vogele, Emma Spencer, Cooper Warford, Alex Meece, Kale Ames, Tristan Morgan, Dillan Bottcher, Brandon Carmichael, Sarah Johnson, Gracie Vermillion, Addison Young, Dakota Whitman, Noah Benito, and Phoenix Canfield. The second picture includes Alex Seeman, Alayah Schrieber, Lilly Scott, Lyndon Salts, Samantha Kelsay, Xander Seeman, Jessica Lopez, Myles Moss, Austen March, and Ashton Schrieber.
