A student kneels beside a classroom table, carefully coloring a small wooden turkey craft using markers. A plastic bin filled with various markers sits on the table, along with a tall stack of unfinished wooden turkey pieces and whiteboards labeled “Station 6” and “Station 7.” Another student’s hands are visible nearby, also working on a craft.

JAG students explored Thanksgiving-themed critical thinking and career connections through a series of 12 hands-on stations. Each station challenged students with a task tied to a real career or essential skill. Activities included identifying agricultural crops, determining a missing food group, measuring ingredients, reading a map, budgeting for a casserole, setting a dinner table, creating an invitation, designing a centerpiece, restoring the power, building a thankful turkey, and engineering a turkey float for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade using Legos.

Students worked independently as they rotated through the stations, using a guided worksheet filled with critical-thinking prompts and reflection questions. They especially enjoyed the real-world challenges, the variety of tasks, and the opportunity to explore careers in a fun, seasonal way.
