The image features the Southern “S” logo, a rendering of a new high school gym interior with red and black Raider branding, architectural floor plans, and an exterior rendering of the proposed gym building. Text highlights Southern’s commitment to being a small-school community with big opportunities. Additional text announces a Southern Board of Education meeting on Friday, February 13, at 5:30 PM to review proposed gym bids, and notes there will be no board meeting on February 9.

Southern is exploring a new gym proposal designed to better support our students, programs, and community. This facility could bring meaningful benefits to Raider Nation, including:

1️⃣ Improved Practice Schedules
A second gym would allow teams and activities to practice at more consistent times, helping reduce early morning and late-night practices.

2️⃣ Support for Youth Sports
Expanded space would create more opportunities for youth programs, camps, and community activities, strengthening the Raider pipeline from an early age.

3️⃣ Expanded Learning Opportunities
A new gym would support physical education, wellness, leadership, and hands-on learning experiences tied to academics, technology, and student engagement.

4️⃣ Dedicated Space for Southern Wrestling
A second gym would allow for a dedicated wrestling space, giving the Southern wrestling team consistent access to mats, safer practice conditions, and the ability to grow the program.
