Here’s what’s happening at Southern this week! From District Speech and Quiz Bowl to music contests, the JAG Blood Drive, and the MUDECAS All-Star Basketball Game, it’s another busy week full of opportunities for our students.

The Student Council would like to invite any Southern staff and all 7-12 students to join us to compete in an evening of fun Dodgeball on Friday, March 20th!
Community members are encouraged to come cheer everyone on and help create a yearly Raider tradition to bring everyone together! Please sign up your team of 6(please no less than 6 to keep things fair to all teams) by Wednesday, March 18th.
Cost is $12 per team and the theme is whatever you desire(appropriate, please).
$1 entry fee for spectators.
Bring your roster and your fee to Mr. Tunink.
Unfortunately, our competition is limited to only students 7-12 and any Southern Staff(Elementary or High school).

Announcement for a dogeball tournament to be held on March 20th at 4:30pm in the Southern High School gym.  Teams can consist of any Southern 7-12 students or any Southern Staff members.  Entry fee per team is $12.  Team fees are due by Wednesday, March 18th to be eligible to participate.  Entrance fee for spectators is $1.

JH robotics did amazing today! Team Venezuela brought home a first place win and an awesome trophy, and Team Mexico took 4th place! They were challenged to code, build, and drive robots, build and cross a 3D printed bridge, and fight it out in battle bots! So proud of you all!

Four JAG students proudly represented the Southern JAG program at the State Career Development Conference through Nebraska Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG). Southern was selected as a Top 20 finalist for the Outstanding Chapter competition—an exciting achievement for our program. Throughout the day, students connected with employers and colleges, networked with other JAG students from across the state, and explored ways to expand opportunities at Southern. It was a great day of building professional skills, making connections, and learning new ideas to bring back to our school!
