Simple, effective experiment for spooling DNA

This is a simple, effective experiment for spooling DNA. Ripe strawberries are an excellent source for extracting DNA because they are easy to crush and contain enzymes that help to break down cell walls. Most importantly, strawberries have eight copies of each chromosome, so there is a lot of DNA to isolate. This experiment was done via distance science with Patrick. The class enjoyed it a great deal even though not everyone was successful in collecting DNA.
