I have been the Elementary School Librarian, serving on a part-time basis, here at Southern since the fall of 2010. I enjoy introducing our students to interesting books that whet their appetite to read. I also enjoy teaching them library skills and uses for technology that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives.

My education includes B.S. and M.S. degrees from Kansas State University in what is now called Family and Consumer Sciences. I also earned my library/media endorsement at the University of Nebraska in Omaha.

I taught Family and Consumer Sciences at a private school in Central City, Nebraska, after graduation from Kansas State. I also served with the Nebraska Cooperative Extension Service as an Extension Educator for Home Economics in Nuckolls and Webster counties. More recently, I worked as the elementary library para-educator here at Southern Elementary until the former librarian retired.

My husband, Neil, and I have two sons, Joel and Eric. Joel is an industrial designer in Cincinnati, Ohio and Eric is a client of Region V in Beatrice. My hobbies include spending time with friends and family, reading, crocheting, making origami and playing the piano.
