On Saturday, August 16 a dedication ceremony took place at Southern elementary to honor Blue Springs native Guy Chamberlin. A monument was place on school grounds recognizing the Husker and NFL legend. Randy York from the University of Nebraska along with other speakers spoke on Chamberlin's legacy and significance to the community. Three former Huskers and Chamberlin award winners were on hand for the ceremony.
