Mrs. Tjaden is our Kindergarten teacher and could use some support!
Everett, son of Skyler & Jessie Tjaden, and to help raise money for his medical bills and expenses. Shortly after Everett was born, on September 24, 2017, he began having seizures. During lengthy stays at Children’s Hospital in Omaha, Everett is now home and is on several anti epileptic medications and as they wait for his test results. He will continue to need monitoring through Children’s Hospital.

Cornhusker Boys and Girls State- If you are interested in a premier program that teaches citizenship, state government and civic responsibility, then you should be attending Cornhuskers Boys and Girls State in June. If you are interested and want more information, please see Mr. Murphy.
Juniors and seniors in art- Please check your calendars and let Mrs. Neverve know ASAP if you would like to attend the Peru State art day on Friday, March 23 from 9am-3pm. Art Students: Pioneer Conference Art Show 2018 is coming up. Southern is allowed to take up to 40 pieces. Students are welcome to submit more than one piece (submissions may be limited if several students would like to participate). Work must have been completed in the last calendar year. If it needs to be matted please bring to the art room by 4pm on Tuesday 1/22. Thursday 1/25 by 4pm. More information on Google Classroom.

RAAD day at Red/White Spring Game- RAAD kids who would like to attend the NE RED/White Football game in Lincoln should pick up a parent permission form from the office. All forms and money must be turned into the office by Jan. 30th. The game is scheduled for April 21st. No late slips will be accepted. Mrs. Bednar has to have her ticket request put in by Feb 1. Questions please call elementary and talk to Mrs. Bednar.
RAAD lock-in- RAAD is planning to have a lock-in at the high school for all students in grades 7-12 on March 23, 2018. However this will be dependent on if Mrs. Bednar has parent supervision for the evening. We can break the night into smaller shifts if she has enough parent/adult volunteers. The lock-in will run from Friday 10:00 pm until 6:00 am Saturday. RAAD members please ask your parents to contact Mrs. Bednar at the elementary to sign up.

Wymore Legion Baseball Sign Up-in the office- Boys that are ages 13-19 on or after January 1st are eligible to play legion baseball. If you’d like to play Wymore/Diller/Odell Legion baseball in Wymore, please list your name, birth date and which team you’d like to play for. If you are interested in teaching, then you can sign up for the Beatrice Area Retired School Personnel Scholarship which is $500 and is due by March 15.
The Divorce Matters Scholarship is a $2,500 one-time award, and is due May 31, 2018.
NursingSchoolsAlmanac.com has just launched its fourth annual Aspiring Nurse Scholarship. Their website will award a $1,000 scholarship to a future nurse in the high school graduating class of 2018. Scholarship applications will be accepted until midnight on August 31, 2018.
This year NRCSA will award a total of 16 $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors from NRCSA member schools and must be postmarked by February 9, 2018.
Blue Valley Community Action Partnership is now accepting applications for the 2017-2018 “BVCA Partnership Scholarship”, “BVCA Partnership Vocational Scholarship”, and BVCA Partnership SCC Scholarship”. Scholarships will be in the amount of $500 and can be used for tuition, books and fees associated with enrollment. All applications must be received or postmarked on or before February 1, 2018.

Juniors who are interested in pursuing a degree in Business should apply for the Dream Big Academy to be held this summer in July. Applications are accepted until March 16. Sammie Anderson attended last year and she will answer any questions you might have. There are scholarships attached to attendees.
UNO has a music technology degree program for those students who are interested in music.
The Missouri National Recreational River is looking for 3 student park guides this summer to assist with the interpretive, community and educational outreach division of the park in Yankton, South Dakota and the surrounding area. Seniors looking for opportunities other than college can check out the Automation Technician Apprenticeship. This is a 4 year apprenticeship which the employee earns an Associates Degree. 70% on job training and 20% buIlding relationships and 10% formal classroom training.
University Of South Dakota potential scholarship opportunities include their Coyote Commitment Scholarships valued up to $3,500 per year.
Farmers Cooperative will award a $500 scholarship to an eligible High School Senior that will be attending college as a full time student. Completed applications should be returned to the school office by March 1st and final selection made by April 1st.
