BOARD OF EDUCATION
April 16, 2012
7:30 p.m.
The meeting was called to order by President Doug Argo at 7:46 p.m. with the following members present: Doug Argo, Dave Creevan, Carmen McKeever, Harlan Rickers, Hannah Zimmerling and student board member, Jared McKeever.
Reasonable advance publicized notice of the meeting was given according to law by publishing, a designated method for giving notice of the school district. Reasonable advance notice was simultaneously given to board members and a copy of their acknowledgment of receipt of notice and the agenda attached. All proceedings hereafter shown were taken while the convened meeting was open to the attendance of the public.
President Doug Argo announced that a complete copy of the Open Meetings Act is posted in the back of the board of education meeting room.

The superintendent reported on Data Conference, NRCSA Meting, teacher interviews, new design for school web page and State Aid certification.
The elementary principal reported on enrollment, state testing, achievement testing, fun and field day and kindergarten roundup.
The secondary principal reported on enrollment, testing, alternative school, honor roll and the school play.
Moved by Rickers, seconded by Creevan to approve the minutes from the March 12, 2012 board meeting.

Moved by Creevan, seconded by Argo to approve the superintendent as the signature on all official school documents for the 2011-12 and 2012-13 school years.

Moved by Rickers, seconded by McKeever to approve the Marlene Chapp memorial donation of a picnic table for the elementary.

Moved by Argo, seconded by Zimmerling to approve the leasing of two school busses from Masters Transportation.

Moved by Argo, seconded by Zimmerling to approve a salary adjustment for the elementary secretary to increase 75¢ starting this point forward. Moved by Creevan, seconded by Argo to amend the motion to 50¢ per hour from this point forward.

Moved by Zimmerling, seconded by Rickers to approve the resolution for an interlocal agreement for alternative school with ESU #5 for the 2012-13 school year

Hannah Zimmerling left the meeting at 9:40 p.m.
Moved by Zimmerling, seconded by McKeever to follow the state statute of the March 15 deadline and to deny the option enrollment of Alexander Watts to Beatrice for the 2012-13 school year.

Moved by McKeever, seconded by Rickers to approve the purchase of new bus radios required to meet federal narrow banding width.
