Syllabus for High School PE II
Course Description: This PE class focuses on fitness and lifetime sports. You will learn games and activities that will help keep you active for a life time. A good portion of the class will be devoted to becoming physically fit.
Class Expectations:

You must be dressed properly and ready for class four minutes after the tardy bell rings. You will need a separate change of clothes. You will not wear what you wore to school. Please keep these clothes clean. Proper clothing includes gym shorts or sweats, t-shirt, pair of socks, and a pair of shoes.

No candy or gum in class. Also no FOOD OR DRINK

You may take a shower if you choose, but you still need to be dressed and on time to your next class.

At the conclusion of class, you can wait in the gym for the bell to ring. There will be no leaving the gym for any reason without permission. If this becomes a problem you will wait in the locker room.

You are expected to be on time, prepared, and bring a positive attitude. Being prepared means being to class on time. Your fourth tardy will equal a detention. When class starts you need to be ready to begin. (at your station ready to go) Things such as using the bathroom or putting on your shoes needs to be taken care of before class starts.

HAVE FUN
Grading: Each day you will be given ten points. The following will explain how to keep those points.

One point for being on time and ready to begin class four minutes after the tardy bell rings.

Two points for dressing properly.

Five points for having a positive attitude, and giving your best effort.

One point for gum

One point for proper warm up.

In addition to the five daily points, quiz grades and skill tests will also be factored in. If you do not participate or are removed from class at anytime you will lose all 5 points.

Sitting Out You have two days all year to sit out of PE without punishment. One per semester. On the second time and any there after you will receive a twenty five minute detention and be sent to the office. Please note that anytime you sit out you will lose all points for that day.
-. Behavior- The first time there is a problem you will be warned. The second time you will receive a detention. The third will result in removal from class and a detention.
Schedule: We will meet in the gym everyday unless told otherwise. Stretching and a warm up activity will generally start the day. The activities that we do in this class will take place in the Gym, fitness center and also outdoors. Two days a week will be devoted to fitness and weight training. You will be informed before hand so that you can dress accordingly.
