MINUTES
BOARD OF EDUCATION
June 14, 2010
7:30 p.m.
The meeting was called to order by President Doug Argo at 7:38 p.m. with the following members present: Doug Argo, Dave Creevan, Carmen McKeever, Terry Milligan, Harlan Rickers, Hannah Zimmerling and student board member, Jared McKeever.
Reasonable advance publicized notice of the meeting was given according to law by publishing, a designated method for giving notice of the school district. Reasonable advance notice was simultaneously given to board members and a copy of their acknowledgment of receipt of notice and the agenda attached. All proceedings hereafter shown were taken while the convened meeting was open to the attendance of the public.
President Doug Argo announced that a complete copy of the Open Meetings Act is posted in the back of the board of education meeting room.

The superintendent reported on summer projects, fall scheduling, budget information.
The elementary principal reported on reading program, kindergarten roundup, preschool summer school and other calendar items.
The secondary principal reported on teaching positions, alternative school, teacher and class schedule, scholarships, summer activities.
Moved by Creevan, seconded by Zimmerling to approve the following consent agenda items: Minutes of the May 10th regular board meeting, to adopt the agenda as proposed, approve financial reports and bills from General Fund and compliance with policy 204.07.

Moved by McKeever, seconded by Milligan to approve an increase of 10ยข for school lunch prices for 2010-11.

Moved by Milligan, seconded by Rickers to approve the mileage rate remain the same (50 per mile) as recommended by the State of Nebraska.

Information regarding the 2010-11 budget was presented.
Moved by Creevan, seconded by Milligan to approve a change of time for 2011 graduation ceremonies from 6:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Moved by Milligan, seconded by Creevan to go into executive session at 9:12 p.m. for the purpose of prevention of needless injury to the reputation of an individual.
