Spanish Immersian Field Trip

by Brittany Lovell

November 24, 2008

For our Spanish Immersion Field Trip, Spanish classes two, three, and four went to Crete. We ate at a Hispanic restaurant named Cristina’s. While we were there, we had to speak in Spanish only. A majority of the menu was in Spanish, but there was some in English too. When the waiters came to take our orders we ordered in Spanish.

After we finished eating, we went to three Hispanic stores. The first two stores we went to were grocery stores. Although they were grocery stores, they had a variety of items in them other than food. Besides food there were shoes, clothing, and piñatas. Some interesting things we saw were they put a lot of their items, such as spices, in plastic bags rather than plastic containers. All of the pop bottles were in glass bottles instead of plastic bottles. The third store we went to was a clothing store. The clothing store had a wide range of clothing and shoes. It ranged from casual clothing to formal dresses.
