Upward Bound participants have had a busy fall! Here are some
highlights of the activities that have taken place:
• Community service project
• Dinner at Greek restaurant, the Parthenon
• Attended “Lost in Younkers” at the Lincoln Community
Playhouse
• Completed Test Anxiety and Stress Reduction Workshop
• Discovered learning strengths and styles
• Attended twelve state Student Leadership Conference in St.
Charles, IL.
• Seniors took part in Financial Aid planning nights
• Took seniors and parents to personalized college visits
To Participants: Here’s what’s taking place in December. ..
• Regular tutoring/homework assistance at the high school
• Tutoring/homework assistance and Math Supplemental Instruction on
Tuesday nights at SCC
• December 9: Winter Celebration! If you can, bring a can. Canned
food items will go to a family in need. Tutoring will be from
6:30-7:30. The celebration will be from 7:30-8:30 – it promises to
be sticky, sweet, and fun!
• December 16: Senior Seminar. Bring calendars and your blue
books!
• Reminder that the Upward Bound office will be closed from
December 24-January 5.
