MUSIC WEB RESOURCES

Parents can find additional resources to encourage their children to grow musically and to have a better understanding about music.

John Phillip Sousa

J.P. Sousa was one of the biggest influences of the formation of community and school bands in America.  This site has a wealth of information on this director/composer.

Classical Music Archives

A library of classical music you can download along with a wealth of historical information on the compositions and the composers.  Very informative!  Students may find the original version of solos they may be studying. It does require a membership, but you can browse a bit to decide if its worth it to you to be  a member. Students at Southern:  we are most like subscribed to it through the school.

Factmonster - Music

Factmonster.com is marketed to elementary and junior high education; but after studying the site and talking with teachers - this site is appropriate for all ages.  There are some great music sites within factmonster - go visit !

This is just too much fun ! Click on each horse and hear their assigned vocal parts.  You can have a soloists, duet, trio, or quartet. Great for all ages.  Need a smile; just click on this site !
